Basic skincare tips for women

The best way to look our best is by maintaining a healthy complexion and skin. Taking care of your skin is not always an expensive affair. Just follow these simple 4 steps of skin care to keep your face youthful. The steps would vary according to the kind of skin you have: Normal / combination, dry, oily or sensitive.

BASIC SKINCARE TIPS FOR A HEALTHY AND GLOWING SKIN

Step 1 # Cleansing

Look for a cleanser which suits your skin type. One of the keys to a glowing skin is to keep it clean. Find the cleanser which is tailored to your needs. Avoid using soaps on your face as it will remove the essential oils from your face leaving it patchy and dry. For those with dry skin, use an oil or cream based cleanser and for those with oily skin use a gel based cleanser.

Milk or yogurt is two natural cleansers. Apply using cotton and then wash your face with water.

Ideally you should wash your face twice in a day, once in the morning and once before going to bed. Do not use water which is hot or cold as both can cause broken capillaries.

Make sure that you remove your eye makeup using a remover before going to bed. The area around the eye is soft and delicate so avoid scrubbing or rubbing around it. Almond or Olive oil can also be used as a natural eye makeup remover.

Step #2 Toning and Exfoliating

For those with oily skin, use an astringent or toner only when your skin feels oily even after cleansing. Try using a toner sparingly as alcohol based toners remove all oil from your face causing the skin to produce more oil.

Exfoliating your skin is an important step in your skincare regime. It helps in removing the dead cells and gives your face a glow. Ideally, we should exfoliate our skin at least once a week, however, if you have skin issues like eczema, try using a cream for facial eczema and then try these options for exfoliation-

Peel offs- they are readily available in the market and easy to use. Once done, you will see an immediate change in your skin.

Scrubs- You can buy one in the market or make it at home.

Step #3 Moisturizing

After cleansing and exfoliating, it’s very important for you to moisturize your skin.

Try olive oil, coconut oil, almond oil for those with normal or dry skin. Oily skin people can use a light moisturizer for their face or can skip this step. Another good option to try for all skin types is a cbd topical like CBD oil which contains powerful plant-based ingredients that can help in keeping the skin free of problems such as acne, scars, wrinkles, etc. In any case, it would be better to find out if it is legal to use CBD in your country or state. Even though most states in the US have legalized CBD oil for medical purposes, it would be best to ask a certified doctor – is CBD oil legal in your state?

If it is legal in your state, there is a good chance that manufacturers would mix CBD into various oils, which they then use as an ingredient in skin creams and lotions. According to research, CBD has anti-inflammatory properties and may help relieve the symptoms of some skin conditions such as dryness or flaking. There are many other cbd topicals for women that can be used on the skin to reduce inflammation, swelling, pain, and redness from existing breakouts, as well as irritation from skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis.

Step #4 Applying sunscreen

Sun rays can cause wrinkles and sun burn so it’s important to apply a sunscreen with SPF 30 and above at least 30 minutes before you step in the sun. You can read more about sunscreens here.

Follow these four basic skincare tips and your face will thank you!
