GIVE YOUR FOOT A SPECIAL TREATMENT AT HOME!

Cleaning

Soak your feet in a tub of lukewarm water. Add few drops of essential oils (peppermint or lemon) to the water. You can also add ½ ounce of your favorite bath salts and one tablespoon of olive oil to the water. Bath salts will help in softening the dry skin while olive oil will help in moisturizing. Soak your feet for about 20 minutes. Add shampoo or body wash to the water to rev up the lather. Remove your feet once the water turns cold. Clean your feet using a soft foot brush. Add body wash to the brush and clean your heels, toes and sole. Use a filer to remove to clean the dirt under the toe nails. Push the cuticles back using a cuticle pusher. Trim your nails using a nail clipper.

Exfoliating

Use a pumice stone or a foot scraper to exfoliate your feet. Apply a little scrub on your feet and rub on your heels as dead cells tend to accumulate there more. If you want to use a natural scrub try using two tablespoons of oil with two tablespoons of sugar. Exfoliate every part of your feet and once done soak them again in water. Wash your feet with cold water and pat them dry using a clean towel.

Massaging

Apply a good moisturizer and knead the soles of your feet for relaxation. Apply the lotion with strong massaging action starting at the toes and ending at the calves. Massage the base of your feet, arch, heel, between the toes and each toe individually. Massaging would improve the blood circulation in your feet. You can also use fresh homemade cream with lemon juice for massaging your feet. Moisturizing your feet is extremely important as hot water causes the feet to become dry.

Polishing

Apply a base coat and then your favorite nail polish on your feet. Let the base coat dry before applying the second coat. Finish with a top coat for a clear polish. Once the polish is dry, apply oil on your cuticles to moisturize them.

Give your feet a vacation every week and see for yourself how soft your feet will feel.
