Chris Ivery and Ellen Pompeo are proud parents of a baby girl born via surrogate. The couple had made the announcement on Thursday. Sienna is the couple’s second child. Stella, 5, Ellen and Chris’s first child is now the elder sister. The actress had put a picture of the baby with Chris on Instagram yesterday with the caption, “Sienna May Ivery welcome to the world”

The Grey’s Anatomy actress also shared the news on Twitter saying, “Sienna was born via surrogate & I would like to thank my whole @Shondaland TV family for helping us enjoy these first few weeks privately.”

The news came as a surprise to everyone as she had never announced that they were expecting. It seems that Shonda Rhimes, the creator of Grey’s anatomy was aware about the pregnancy and had helped in keeping it under the covers. The baby was born only a few days ago. It was only when Ellen Pompeo posted the pictures, the news went out.
Ellen Pompeo’s first baby was not quite a secret. She had given interviews about it including one with the magazine, Allure before giving birth.
Ellen Pompeo had also recently announced her desire to end her career with Grey’s Anatomy. She said that she lacks the strong desire to act once the medical drama comes to an end. With the news of the baby being out, people are now speculating if the second child has brought the thoughts of quitting acting. However, she did admit that she wanted to challenge herself and acting wasn’t fulfilling that desire.
