There are plenty of natural masks that can be prepared at home for treating dry hair. Just mix the desired ingredients in a bowl and apply it to dry or damp hair. The mask can get runny at times so you can consider wearing a bathrobe. Use a brush or just massage the mask into your hair and scalp. Cover your hair with towel or a shower cap. Sit down and relax and let the mask stay on for 20-30 mins.
Yogurt + Honey + Almond/ Olive oil
Mix ½ cup yogurt with ½ cup honey and 1 tablespoon oil in a bowl. You can heat the honey a bit so that it mixes well. Apply the mixture on wet hair and comb it by a wide toothed comb. Leave on the mixture for 20 mins. Wash off with a mild shampoo and condition as usual.
Honey and yogurt are natural conditioners. They help in treating dry scalp and conditions such as itchiness, dandruff etc.
Banana + Yogurt + Honey
Mash one banana and add ¼ cup honey and ½ cup yogurt to make a paste. Apply this mixture on dry hair and leave it on for an hour. Shampoo and condition as usual.
Natural oils in bananas help in preventing split ends and breakage.
Banana + Honey + Beer + Egg
Mash one banana and blend an egg to the mixture. App ½ cup beer and a tablespoon of honey to it. Mix well and apply on dry hair. Let the mixture remain on the scalp for atleast an hour. This mask is good for those who want to add volume and shine to their hair.
Avocado + Olive oil + honey
Make a paste of mashed avocados+ 1 tablespoon olive oil + 2 tablespoon honey and apply this mixture on your scalp. Leave it on for 30 mins and then rinse as normal.
Avocados help in retaining the essential moisture of your hair as they are rich in Vitamins A, B, D and E and some fatty acids. It promotes hair growth and leaves your hair with a shiny smooth texture.
Olive oil/ coconut oil + Lemon juice + Honey + Yogurt
Mix oil, lemon juice and honey and yogurt together to make a mask. This mask is great for moisturizing your hair and for treating irritated scalp. Wrap your hair in a hot towel or sit under a hood dryer for best results.
